In order to promote Fujian-produced authentic TCM materials to the world through inheritance and innovation, the Summit Forum of High Quality Development of Fujian-produced Traditional Chinese Medicine and Promotion Meeting of the National Key R&D Program of China was held in Beijing on December 20, 2020.

“The integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has become a major feature of China’s anti-epidemic strategy and has achieved significant results, which once again proves the quintessence charm of traditional Chinese medicine. TCM doctors focus on Prevention and Treatment before Disease Onset. From a conceptual point of view, many traditional Chinese medicines belong to homology of medicine and food, and the integration of traditional Chinese medicine into daily life will have a good conditioning and helpful effect on the body.” Chen Keji, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and master of traditional Chinese medicine, said in his speech that Fujian-produced authentic traditional Chinese medicinal materials represented by Ganoderma lucidum  play an important role in benefiting human health.

Zhu Renxiu, deputy mayor of Nanping City, Fujian Province, said that Nanping is an area with the best natural ecology and biodiversity at the same latitude on the earth. Nanping has profound cultural deposits of traditional Chinese medicine. In Nanping, there are authentic medicinal materials such as Ganoderma lucidum, Pseudosciaena ginseng and Alisma plantago-aquatica. This time, the national key project for Reishi mushroom on Research on Modernization of TCM led by GANOHERB Group is a successful integration of a good ecological environment with technological innovation in Fujian.

“In current epidemic prevention and control, Ganoderma lucidum and other Fujian-produced TCM materials have played an important role. They are not only used to strengthen individuals’ prevention of novel coronavirus but also directly support enterprises to resume production.” Zhang Boli, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said via video link that the official implementation of the national key project for Reishi mushroom on Research on Modernization of TCM can not only develop Fujian-produced authentic TCM materials like Lingzhi into a people-enriching technological industry with Chinese characteristics but also promote Fujian-produced  high-quality TCM materials to the world. It will give full play to the unique advantages and effects of TCM in disease prevention and treatment.

The event was hosted by Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Nanping Municipal People’s Government and jointly organized by the Institute of Medicinal Plants Development of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Nanping Science and Technology Association and GANOHERB Group.
