Stevia is a non-nutritive or zero-calorie sweetener made from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant. Stevia rebaudiana is native to Brazil and Paraguay. Stevia leaves get their sweet taste from natural compounds called steviol glycosides. The steviol glycosides are extracted and refined to make stevia the ideal sugar replacement.
